Decide separately how to dry a linen shirt, trousers and blazer. Similar composition does not mean identical construction or finishes. Before preparing a space, read the drying instructions on the label and check that they account for the whole garment, including lining and details.
Choose a method permitted for the garment
Do not infer tumble-drying permission from the fibre name alone. A linen towel or bedding manufacturer’s guide concerns different products from your blazer. If the symbol is unclear or the label missing, establish the method for that model before starting a machine. Keep the obtained instructions with the garment information.
Arrange components before leaving to dry
Separate legs or sleeves and check that they have not remained turned inside. Examine pockets, belt and lining. Within the method specified on the label, give the garment space without contact with a dirty surface. Do not try to change dimensions by stretching a wet seam.
Consider colour and location
LinenMe recommends drying coloured linen away from direct sun. Choose a place that also satisfies the garment’s remaining instructions. Check that a long hem does not touch the floor and another wet item does not lie on it. After repositioning, recheck components that may have rolled or slipped underneath.
Inspect before storing
Check the thicker waistband, cuffs, pockets and lining areas instead of judging only a thin front section. Put the garment away only when completely dry. Treat an uneven hem or pulling lining as a separate problem, not a reason for more intensive drying. Source for coloured-linen guidance: LinenMe — care guide.
